Breaking! Enyimba part ways with coach Yemi Olanrewaju

Enyimba Football Club has officially parted ways with its first-team head coach, Yemi Olanrewaju.

Coach Yemi Olanrewaju’s departure comes after a dismal run of form that has seen the Aba Elephants secure only one win in their last 10 matches.

The announcement was made on the club’s official Twitter page on Saturday.

“OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT “

“Enyimba FC can confirm that it has parted ways with head coach Yemi Olarenwaju.”

“The club thanks Coach Olarenwaju for his services and wishes him the best in his future endeavour”

The team has failed to secure a victory in their last nine games, recording seven draws and two losses.

The club’s last triumph came on October 10, with a 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City in a Nigeria Premier Football League fixture.

Enyimba’s struggles have extended beyond domestic competitions, affecting their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The team suffered defeats in two of their first three group-stage matches, losing 2-0 to Al Masry, drawing 2-2 with Zamalek at home, and enduring a heavy 3-0 loss to Black Bullets.

Olanrewaju previously served as an assistant to former Super Eagles coach Finidi George and took over the head coach role in June after Finidi’s appointment as the national team manager.

Currently, Enyimba sits 11th in the Nigeria Premier Football League standings with 23 points from 15 matches, although they have three outstanding fixtures.
