Breaking! Kanu replaces Felix Anyansi-Agwu As New Enyimba Chairman

Veteran Super Eagles forward, Kanu Nwankwo fondly known as “Papilo” is set to be named as the new chairman of current Nigeria Premier League champions, Enyimba football club.

According to multiple sources, the former Arsenal striker will replace seasoned administrator Felix Ayansi-Agwu as the new chairman/sole administrator of the Aba-based club.

Former media officer of the league, Emeka Nwani, in a tweet on Sunday also confirmed the imminent appointment of the veteran Super Eagles forward.

Felix Anyansi-Agwu was appointed manager of the club in 1999 and rose to the position of chairman afterwards. Under his administration, Enyimba won the CAF Champions League twice in 2003 and 2004.

Recently, Anyansi oversaw Enyimba’s record 9th league title triumph under former Super Eagles player, Finidi George.

The seasoned administrator won the CAF Manager of the Year Award in 2003 and 2004. He was also won Manager of the Year Award in the first and second editions of the Nigeria Pitch Awards in 2013 and 2015 respectively.

Anyansi leaves Enyimba after serving for 24 years.
