Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro has invited out of favour national team goalkepper, Maduka Okoye an invitaion to camp ahead of the friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
The former Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper makes a return to the team after more than a year of absence.
His invitation comes with the likelihood of Hapoel Jerusalem’s goalkeeper, Adebayo Adeleye not making it to the matches due to the ongoing war in Isreal.
The Super Eagles will take on Saudi Arabia on the 16th of October and Mozambique three days later. Both matches will be played in Portugal.
Okoye, who currently plays for Udinese in the Italian Serie A has had a torrid time in the last few months with lack of game time.
The 24-year-old left Sparta Rotterdam in the summwe of the 2021/2022 season for Watford but struggled to make it between the sticks, hemce his move to the club’s affiliate in Italy.
With more than seven games into the new season, Maduka is yet to make an appearance for Udinese.
