Nigeria senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons have qualified for the final round of the Paris 2024 summer Olympics after a comprehensive victory over Ethiopia on Tuesday.

The Super Falcons showed forth a much improved performance as they brezeed through their opponents 4 nil at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

The first 40 minutes of the encounter was quite difficult for the 11-time African champions as they struggled to convert some of their chances.

Asisat Oshoala beat her opponent with her trickery from the right flank before squaring the ball to Rasheedat Ajibade who slotted the ball home to double the advantage.

With the two goal advantage, the Nigerian ladies took control of the game and the third goal was just a matter of time.

It eventually came in the 68th minute and this time, Barcelona Femini forward, Oshoala was in space as she scored from a sublime cross from Uchenna Kanu.

Asisat Oshoala turned the provider for the Super Falcons fourth goal. She repeated her trick from the right flank again and once again Rasheedat Ajibade was at the end of her square ball to make it 4 nil.

Houston Dash’s defender Michelle Alozie had the chance to score her debut goal for the Super Falcons but missed from Uchenna Kanu’s cross.

The match ended 4 nil and 5-1 on aggreagtae as the Super Falcons booked their ticket for the fourth round of qualification where they will face Cameroon home and away.

The winner of the tie will progress to the final round of qualification. Ony two African teams will qualify to play at the Olympics.
