Brendan Rodgers confirms Ndidi return date!

Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Liverpool, has hinted that Nigerian international Wifred Ndidi could return to play after the international break.

Rodgers offered this encouraging injury report during his pre-match press conference on Friday, ahead of his side’s Premier League fixture against Brentford Community Stadium on Sunday.

The 24-year-old midfielder has already missed the Foxes’ games against Crystal Palace, Manchester United, and Spartak Moscow due to a hamstring injury. He was left out of Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Central Africa Republic over two legs.

“Wilf isn’t too far away, but that’ll probably be around the next international break,” Rodgers was quoted as saying on the club’s website.

While giving an update on his injured players ahead of the highly anticipated clash with the new EPL boys, Rodgers revealed that Ndidi is recovering well and could return sooner than expected.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s form has also impressed the Northern Irishman, who has scored or assisted in each of his last five games for the Foxes.

“Kelechi is now a consistent performer. He can score goals and create goals and he works very, very hard.”

Ndidi is set to return for Leicester City’s match against Arsenal on October 30 at home.
