Nigerian-born Bukayo Saka receives Arsenal’s Player of the Month award for February in June
England youth international of Nigerian descent Bukayo Saka has received Arsenal’s February Player of the Month accolade in June.
Saka was nominated for the award along with Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, David Luiz, and Shkodran Mustafi.
The youngster earned a nomination following impressive performances and providing goals for teammates in the games against Newcastle, Olympiacos, and Everton all in February.
The Arsenal fans rewarded him by voting him the player of the Month for February but the Premier League was suspended due to the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus.
Upon the return of action this week, Saka has eventually received the award and took to his official Instagram account to show off the accolade in the picture and thank the supporters for voting.
The message that accompanied the picture said, “Just received my February player of the month trophy Better late than never Thanks to all the fans who voted.”
