Cyriel Dessers’ Brace Sends Rangers Into Scottish Cup Final!

Glasgow Rangers have qualified for this season’s Scottish Cup final after a 2 nil victory over Hearts on Sunday ay Hampden Park.

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers bagged a brace to send The Gers into their third final in 10 years.

Dessers scored the first goal of the match on the 5th minute as he controlled a pass from Todd Cantwell with his right foot before burying it with his left into the bottom right corner to give Rangers the lead.

The match was quite a close encounter as both sides created a couple of chances. Hearts stuggled to convert theirs as Rangers held on to their lead going into the last 20 minutes of the match.

Once again, Todd Cantwell’s dazzling run and trickery paid off as he found Dessers into the box from a blistering counter attack.

Cyriel Dessers’s first attempt on goal was saved but he got his rebound right and squeezed the ball past a few defenders to double Rangers’ lead on the 71st minute.

The 29-year-old played for 90 minutes and extra time as Rangers sealed a 2 nil victory over Hearts on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers will take on eternal rivals Celtic in the final May 25 at the same venue. This will be the first time both teams will meet in the final since 2022.

Celtic are the defending champions. The Bhoys defeated Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3-1 last season to lift their 41st Scottish Cup title.
