Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) players are ready for the 2023/24 season, even as they resolve not to be distracted.
The team’s skipper, Waheed Omololu Abiodun, denied that they were mistreated by the club’s management, and also denied that its Technical Advisor, Gbenga Ogunbote, collected money from them.
Dimeji Lawal, the club’s general manager and team manager, was also cleared of wasting club properties and making money from hospital bills.
Players told sports journalists at the club’s Jericho office on Tuesday that they are fully focused on the upcoming season.
Omololu spoke on behalf of his teammates. “We are looking forward to the start of the season with much confidence.
“On behalf of my colleagues, I want to assure our Governor, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde and our teeming fans that they will see the best of football from us this season and we will surely pick a continental ticket, because that is our target,”, he declared.
Managers and technical staff were pledged the players’ loyalty and support.
At the briefing, one of the new arrivals, goalkeeper Chinedu Anozie, expressed satisfaction with the way the management treats players, particularly regarding accommodations.
