Chukwueze scores in Villareal’s copa Del Rey loss to Real Madrid

Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze was among the goalscorers for Villareal as they threw away a two-goal lead at home to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey.

The Yellow Submarines went into the game on the back of defeating the La Liga Champions 2-1 last Saturday. They wished for good start and they got it. 

Former Tottenham midfielder, Etienne Capoue gave the home side the lead very early in the game. 

Samuel Chukwueze doubled the lead a few minutes to half-time from a well-worked counter-attacking play. 

However, the Nigerian winger was on for all 90 minutes as he watched his side surrendered their lead to Real Madrid as Los Blancos scored, equalized and won the game in the 86th minute via Daniel Ceballos’ goal. 

Chukwueze has now scored 8 goals and has provided 8 assists in 28 appearances in all competition for Villarreal this season
