Coronavirus: Federal Government denies N30,000 stimulus package for Nigerians
Reports that the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration will provide a financial package of N30,000 to its citizens to fight the Coronavirus has been debunked.
Femi Adesina who is the Special Adviser on Media and publicity to President Buhari took to his official Twitter account to reveal those claims are false.
The message on his Twitter account said, “Fake news peddlers have concocted a statement, purportedly issued by me, saying FG will pay N30,000 to each Nigerian with BVN, to help them stock up before an impending national lockdown. Not me. The so-called statement is hereby disclaimed.
Tolu Ogunlesi who is the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital & New Media also debunked the report published by Business Day.
The message on his Twitter account said, “Look at the nonsense @patrick_atuanya sent out today. Either you’re apologizing unreservedly or not, what’s with the silly, weak excuses?
“We went ahead to publish a wholly unverified story because we didn’t find anyone to help us verify it. No big deal, sorry.”
