The NCDC revealed this in its daily COVID-19 report on Monday morning.
According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), the 86 new cases recorded on Friday represented a reduction from the 116 COVID-19 cases reported the day before.
According to the Nigerian Public Health Institute, the death toll has risen to 2,906, with a total of 212,713 infections recorded across the country.
204,379 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged in the country, according to the report.
According to the NCDC, there are presently 5,428 active coronavirus cases in the country, with a total of 3,340,313 blood samples analyzed since the pandemic began.
The national response actions have continued to be coordinated by a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) activated at Level 2.
