COVID-19: Real Madrid’s striker, Mariano Diaz tests positive. Details πŸ‘‡

Real Madrid’s fast paced striker Mariano Diaz has tested positive for COVID-19 according to a statement by the club.

The statement reads;

“After the COVID-19 tests carried out yesterday on our first team footballers by the Real Madrid Medical Services, our player Mariano, tested positive. The player is in perfect health and is complying with the protocol of isolation at home.”

Mariano Diaz will miss Real Madrid’s second leg Round of 16 clash against Manchester City having lost the first leg 1-2 at the Santiago Bernabeau in February before the competition was suspended because of tye COVID-19 outbreak.

The second leg is slated for the 7th of August and Diaz will be missing in action as Zineden Zidane’s men look to overturn the tie.

The Spanish striker’s only goal in five league appearances for Los Blancos was in the El-Classico in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win en route Los Blancos’ 34th league triumph.
