League two club,Crewe Alexandra have announced the signing of Arthur Okonkwo from Premier League team, Arsenal this summer transfer window.
Okonkwo has been loaned to Crewe Alexandra which marks the 20 year old’s first move away from the Emirates.
Arsenal have goalkeepers Aaron Ramsdale, Matt Turner, Alex Runarsson and Bernd Leno so the youngster is further down the pecking order.
He was promoted to the senior team last season and has been in the Gunners match day squad seven times.
Crewe Alexandra took to Twitter to announce Okonkwo’s signing.
“HE’S HERE AND HE’S A KEEPER! Crewe Alexandra are delighted the loan signing of Arthur Okonkwo from @Arsenal,”they Tweeted.
Okonkwo was born in England and has represented England at the U-16, U-17 and U-18 levels.
He is eligible to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria due to his ancestry.
He made six appearances in the PL2 Division 1 last season.
Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League last season with 69 points from 38 games.
