Cristiano Ronaldo to miss reunion with Lionel Messi after testing positive for COVID-19 again!

If a soothsayer had predicted that Cristiano Ronaldo won’t play against Barcelona when the UEFA Champions League draws were made on the 1st of October, perhaps nobody would believe.

Well, the Juventus striker will miss the much-anticipated reunion with eternal rival Lionel Messi tomorrow night after testing positive for COVID-19 again.

This will be the third time the 35-year-old striker will testing positive for the virus after his first positive test on the 13th of October while on international duty with Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo will miss tomorrow’s clash against Barcelona after he failed to test negative 24-hours before kick-off as required by UEFA.

Ronaldo and Messi have not faced each other since the former left for Juventus in the summer of 2018.

The last time they met in the Champions League was in the semi-finals of the 2011/2012 season between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The absence of the 5-time Ballon D’or winner will be missed by fans who are already anticipating “fireworks” when the duo face-off for the first time in two years.
