Deji Tinubu’s third-year memorial football tournament holds on July 25th
Friends and associates of the late Ayodeji Tinubu will on Sunday, July 25th gather at the Funturf in Lekki to mark the third-anniversary of his passing with a mini-tourney.
According to the organisers, the 3rd TM442 Memorial Tournament will kick off by 3pm at Funturf which is located at Lai Yusuf Crescent, Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Tinubu, aged 52, was a past Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission and former member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
An avid footballer himself, Tinubu led his SportsVision team to victory at the annual Lagos SWAN Cup in 2017 where he was also voted best player.
He gained recognition as a radio and television sports analyst as one of the founders of sports broadcast organisation, SportsVision, with his business partners Deji Omotoyinbo and Bode Oguntuyi. His smooth and flawless analysis on sports matters, especially football, endeared him to viewers and listeners on radio for decades.
The engineer turned sports journalist cum administrator was a die hard fan of Nottingham Forest FC of England and owner of Lagos Athletico football club.
