Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team lost their opening game at the ongoing FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in Belgrade.
DTigress, who are the current champions of Africa lost 90-76 in China in a quite interesting game whîch saw the team put up a spirited performance in the last quarter.
The team had a slow start as they scored only 14 points in the first quarter.
However, DTigress tried to get back into the game in the last quarter as they outscored the Chinese ladies 11-24.

Amy Okonkwo scored 15 points for Nigeria while China’s Li Meng had 19 points.
The team will take on France next in the competition. The match is slated for Friday 11th February.
