Enugu Rangers are back on top of the Nigeria Premier Football League log after their resounding victory over Kano Pillars.
It was a clash of two former champions of the league but the Flying Antelopes showed superiority as they thrashed the Sai Masu Gida 4-1 at the Akwa City Stadium.
Despite conceding early in the game via Yakubu Mohammed’s 11th minute opener, the home side put up a wonderful display as they secured a comeback victory at home.
Veteran striker Godwin Obaje scored the equaliser in the 24th minute via a penalty kick.
The first half ended one-all even though the home side dominated the game for most part of the half.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men started the second half with renewed thirst for goals and they got more in quick succession.
Isaac Saviour doubled the lead in the 54th minute with a brilliant finish as the home side continued their dominance over Kano Pillars.
The third and fourth goal came in within six minutes as the home side took a 4 nil lead with more than 25 minutes left to play.
Nwaodu Chukwudi converted both chances as Enugu Rangers cruised to a comfortable victory in front of their home fans.
Enugu Rangers are curremtly top of the log with 10 points, 10 goals after 5 matches.
In other results, Sporting Lagos bounced back from the defeat to rivals, Remo Stars last week as they secured a 2-1 home win over Niger Tornadoes at the Mobolaji Anthony Arena.
