Alhaji Sani Toro, the former Secretary of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), has been released after being kidnapped on his way to Bauchi from Abuja.
A family source told the media that the former Bauchi State Commissioner for Sports was released late last night, which was good news.
According to a source who spoke to Vanguard News, the ransom was cut from N150 million to N30 million after discussions with the kidnappers. However, the source did not indicate whether the money was paid before his release last night.
“Insha Allah things are under control. Negotiation is on, God willing, this issue will soon be over. The ransom has come down to N30m from N150m. Hopefully by tomorrow (today) or next, things shall be concluded”
It will be recalled that the Bauchi-born former member of the House of Representatives was kidnapped on his way back from Abuja on Saturday, where he attended the wedding of the son of the former president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari.
