Federal Government to provide 100 free buses for Nigeria v Ghana match!

Sunday Dare, the minister of youth and sports development, has urged massive support for the Super Eagles during their return leg match in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs.

Kola Daniel, the minister’s spokesman, told journalists in Abuja on Thursday that Mr Dare was hopeful that FCT residents would turn out massively to support the team on Tuesday.

On Friday, the Super Eagles face the Black Stars in Kumasi in the fixture’s opening leg and host the Ghanaians Tuesday in Abuja.

Mr Daniel added that the FCT Minister had allocated 100 buses for conveying spectators from every part of Abuja to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday for the return match.

“A committee on logistics has been put in place to ensure the security of supporters. The logistics committee led by Shehu Dikko, the second vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been working on a daily basis to ensure the safety of fans,” explained the statement.

The minister added, “But we are sure it is going to be a hitch-free match, and measures have been put in place for everyone who comes to the stadium will go back home successfully.”

The statement also mentioned that the buses would move from every part of Abuja to transport supporters to the stadium and back to their base.

“Everyone interested should locate any place convenient to him or her. The locations are Dutse, Suleja, Kubwa, Nyanya, among others,” he said.

The statement also assured that the ministry was working on installing Video Assistant Referee (VAR) facilities at the stadium.

“They will be ready before the match on Tuesday. Work is ongoing on this. VAR is part of the requirements put in place by FIFA for the match, and on Tuesday, the VAR will be working perfectly,” said the statement.
