Finidi George has resumed work as the new head coach of Rivers United as he took charge of the first training session with the players and technical staff of the club.
The training session was held at the Garden City Sport Complex in Port Harcourt on Monday with a handful of players present.
The ex-international who had a very brief stint as coach of the Super Eagles was appointed as coach of the club on July 3rd.
Following his appointment,Finidi George pledged to make the team win.
“I am honored to have this opportunity, and I thank the Sports Commissioner, the General Manager, and the supporters for their confidence in me. I am committed to working hard and making the team win.”
Rivers United finished the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League season 8th with 53 points and will look to improve their fortune ahead of the new campaign.
Finidi George led Enyimba to their 9th Nigeria Premier Football League title two seasons ago but left to coach the national team at the end of April.
