Fifteen days after he was discharged from hospital after successful brain surgery in Argentina, Diego Armando Maradona has been confirmed dead.

His longtime lawyer and agent, Mattias Morla confirmed the death of the 1986 FIFA World Cup hero about an hour ago.

Maradona who is considered to be one of the greatest football players to ever play the round leather game scored 42 goals in 106 appearances for Argentina including the famous “Hand of God” goal against England at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico City.
