Miguelina Elói Assis dos Santos, the mother former Ballon D’or winner and FC Barcelona star, Ronaldinho Guacho has died due to COVID-19 complications, AS reports.
Ronaldinho’s mother has been hospitalised since December at the Mãe de Deus Hospital Hospital in Porto Alegre after she contracted the virus.
Ronaldinho had earlier put up a post as he thanked fans for their support and prayers for his mother who was already hospitalized as at that time.
His post reads;
Dear friends, my mother has covid-19 and we are fighting so that she recovers soon. She is in intensive care, receiving the best possible treatment. I would like to thank everyone in advance for all of the positive energy you always send. With love. Stay strong Mum
Ronaldinho’s former club, Atletico de Mineiro took to their verified Twitter page to say their condolence to her.
