An own goal by Mario Mandžukić from a free-kick put France in front as early as the 18th minute.
Croatia found an equalizer through Ivan Perišić Goal in the 28th minute.
France went back in front in the 38th minute through Antoine Griezmann who converted a penalty resulting from handball in the box as they went to the halftime break ahead.
Paul Pogba rebounded his own shot in the 59th minute to score the third.
Kylian Mbappé made it a three-goal cushion in the 65th minute with the fourth for France and became the youngest goalscorer in a World Cup final since Pele.
Mandžukić made amends for his own goal in the 69th-minute latching on to a mistake by Hugo Lloris but it’s to late as France held on for a comfortable win in front of 78,011 fans in attendance at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia.
