President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has charged the home-based Super Eagles to be at their best when they take on Mexico on Sunday.
Pinnick, who visited the team at their Los Angeles base told the players to perform at an optimal level as he cited that coach Gernot Rohr who will be watching from the stands, is not easily impressed.
“Rohr is difficult to impress, I want you all to just play to the level of your quality.”
He also discouraged the players from accepting offers to play in the “obscure leagues in Europe” as he revealed that the NFF has plans for the players in the local league.
“We have plans for the home-based players and we don’t want you to move to the obscure leagues in Europe. We will soon stop issuing ICT to our top league players going to these clubs. Our dream is to see you play for the top clubs in Europe.
“We have another potential friendly game for this team in the UK later this year.”
“We have plans to improve the domestic leagues and very soon you all shall see the changes and what we have been doing behind the scenes.”
The Super Eagles will take on Mexico at the LA Coliseum by 4 a.m on Sunday.
