Give Gernot Rohr more time! – Ex-Super Eagles defender

With only a few weeks till the start of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, veteran Nigerian defender Sam Pam has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to give Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr time to prepare the team.

Pam made this statement in the wake of several Nigerians calling for the German tactician to be fired from his managerial position as a result of the team’s poor performance in the 2022 World Cup qualification series.

After a 1-1 tie with Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, the Super Eagles qualified as Group C leaders.

Pam, on the other hand, remarked in an interview with Brila FM that Rohr deserved more time to improve his methods before AFCON 2021.

“I just believe they should give him (Gernot Rohr) some time. As at now for Rohr, I don’t know him as a person or as coach but tactically I believe he will get it right. But I still insist that they should give him time to work.”
