He was outstanding! – Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers hails Wilfred Ndidi after his performance at center-back against Westbrom!

Wilfred Ndidi featured as one of Leicester City’s center-backs against Westbrom – a position that came as a surprise to many football fans.

Leicester City began their 2020/2021 Premier League season with a brilliant 0-3 win at the Hawthorns and Ndidi’s new role in the team’s set-up was one of the major talking points.

Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BBC Sports after the match, described his performance as outstanding as he heaped praises on the Nigerian.

He said;

Ndidi playing at centre-back was outstanding.

He played 60 minutes there in a pre-season friendly. He did play there earlier in his carreer. He’s got the profile to play there – he’s big with a good leap.

Even if he’d played there all his life it would be tough coming back from everyone playing different systems with national teams. It would always be difficult to be cohesive after a couple of days training.

Ndidi is expected to be in action when Leicester City welcomes Burnley to the King Power Stadium this Sunday.
