Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen is very likely to miss the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya later this month.
Galatasaray provided an update on the injury sustained by the Super Eagles striker during a league match over the weekend.
In a statement via its website, the player has now been accessed at a partner medical facility and treatment has commenced.
However, the club didn’t mention how long Osimhen would be on the sidelines.
“The treatment of our football player Victor Osimhen, who experienced pain in his upper left posterior muscle during the Kasımpaşa match in the seventh week of the Trendyol Super League, and who was diagnosed with strain and bleeding in his upper left posterior muscle group during his examination at our sponsor hospital Medicana today, has commenced,” the statement reads.
Osimhen scored his first and second goal for Galatasaray in the club’s three-all home draw against Kasimpasa.
The Super Eagles striker only played the first half of the match before he was substituted for Dries Mertens.
Victor Osimhen is now likely to miss the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya later this month as well as a couple of league and Europa League matches as he recovers from injury.
The 25-year-old has 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 matches since he arrived at the club on a season-long loan from Napoli.
