I am happy at Ajax! – Erik Ten Haag reacts to Manchester United links

Erik Ten Hag has insisted that he is entirely dedicated to his current role at Ajax, despite reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The 51-year-old has been extensively linked with a move to the Premier League and is apparently being considered by Manchester United should manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer be replaced.

The Norwegian is scheduled to lead Manchester United against Watford in the Premier League next weekend, but he is under enormous pressure following a terrible start to the season that included humiliating home defeats against strong rivals Liverpool and Man City.

Before Eddie Howe was selected as Newcastle’s new manager, Ten Hag was linked with the position of manager.

Ten Hag was linked with the Newcastle manager’s job before Eddie Howe was promoted, but he claims he is entirely focused on the work at hand with Ajax.

When asked what he wants to do after Ajax, Ten Hag emphasised that he is entirely dedicated to the Dutch club for as long as they need him.

“I live in the present, so I find it hard to answer this,” he told ESPN. “I always want to improve my team, and as long as I feel this motivation I want to keep going, if Ajax wants that too.”

He was then asked why he would not want to have managed Newcastle to which he added: “Because I am happy at Ajax.

“I have a very good relationship with the board and I’m managing a very strong squad.”
