I want to win Women U-20 World Cup for Nigeria – Danjuma, Super Falconets coach
Newly re-appointed head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s team, Christopher Danjuma has declared that his second missionary journey with the Super Falconets is to win the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup billed for early next year.
Danjuma said since his reinstatement as the head coach of the team he has been in contact with the players he wants to use to prosecute the World Cup and also has plans for physical and mental training for the Falconets.
“I know that the task ahead is a very huge one especially when it comes to women football, because football has been in recess for a long time coupled with women league that has been in recess for close to a year. To bring back women fitness takes longer than men’s.”
“I have no doubt that the girls will react positively when we resume training. Though they have been training individually and at the club level but the most effective training is league competitions which gives the coach the opportunity to assess the players positively.
“I have already drawn my plans for the World Cup and my target is to win it and make history in Nigeria and Africa”.
The Falconets are twice finalists at the World Cup in 2010 and 2014 but ended up losing to Germany on both occasions.
