Austin Eguavoen has revealed that certain conditions must be met before he takes Super Eagles Job permanently.
The interim Super Eagles manager made these remarks recently while watching a Nigeria Premier Football League match between Bendel Insurance and Shooting Stars.
Eguavoen said the Nigeria Football Federation must give him a long term contract and the football body must be patient with him to build a good team.
He added that the body must also give him time to tweak the team until he gets them to play the kind of football he desires.
“The NFF must give me a long-term contract with patience and clauses in the contract because winning is not guaranteed.”
“The NFF will give me time to tweak the team till I find what I want. If they are going to give me a long-term contract with guaranteed patience, why not? Otherwise, I don’t know.”
Austin Eguavoen was announced as interim coach of the Super Eagles at the end of August after the NFF couldn’t reach an agreement with German coach Bruno Labbadia.
Eguavoen took charge of the team for the two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September where he recorded a win over Benin Republic and a draw away at Rwanda.
The 59-year-old coach who is also the technical director of the NFF is expected to continue as interim coach of the Super Eagles until the end of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in November.
The team will take on the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in Uyo on October 11th and the return fixture four days later in Tripoli as they continue the AFCON 2025 qualification series.
The Super Eagles currently top Group D with 4 points after two matches.
