Iheanacho would have to wait till next season to make history as he missed out on winning April’s Premier League Player of the Month accolade.
Westham’s Jesse Lingard was crowned with his first-ever award after his rejuvenation at the Westham club.
The Manchester United loanee had a brilliant outing in April as he bagged 4 goals and provided 2 assists in April.
Lingard has now scored goals and he has provided 4 assists for Westham since he joined the club on loan from Manchester United in January.
On the flip side, Iheanacho who also had brilliant performances in April could have become the first Nigerian player to win the award back to back having won the March edition.
However, Iheanacho has started the month of May on a good note as he scores one of Leicester City’s consolation goals in the 4-2 defeat to Newcastle.
