Iheanacho’s spot under threat as Patson Daka looks set to join Leicester City for £30m!

The just-concluded football season will without an iota of doubt, go down as one of the most memorable seasons for Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho finished the season as Leicester City’s top scorer in all competitions ahead of Jamie Vardy with 21 goals in 38 appearances.

He also won Premier League’s Player of the Month for March, Leicester City’s Goal of the Season and he became the player in the history of the Premier League to score on all days of the week within a season.

Iheanacho also joined the host of Nigerians who has won the F.A Cup as Leicester City defeated Chelsea 1-0

However, ahead of the new football season, Iheanacho’s place might be under threat as Leicester City edges closer to sign Zambian striker Patson Daka from Salzburg.

European football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal has been completed between both clubs and the player has also agreed on personal terms.

Patson Daka also enjoyed a brilliant season with Salzburg as he scored 32 goals in 34 appearances for the Austrian side.

Leicester City are also planning to bring Celtic’s striker, Odsonne Edouard to the club. The 23-year-old striker also scored 21 goals in 38 matches for Celtic.

With Jamie Vardy aging (34), the Foxes are already preparing for the imminent exit of the striker which means Iheanacho with regards to how well he performed last season will be given the responsibility to lead Leicester City’s attack.

Should Edouard finally join the club, Iheanacho will have to work twice as hard to get a starting shirt or probably leave the club as he will look to avoid a drop in performance ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations next year.
