Five persons were rescued alive and four dead bodies were found from the debris of the 21-story building that collapsed on Monday afternoon on Gerald Road in Ikoyi, Lagos, according to Ibrahim Farinloye, the Southwest Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
Farinloye told Vanguard that the rescue mission is still ongoing as they move closer to the location where some of the construction workers are stuck.
However, he was unable to determine the total number of victims or the number of people trapped inside the structure.
More victims have been rescued and are being treated at the time of writing this article, according to Vanguard.
