Is the USA $7m bounty on Shekau a good idea?

The latest news regarding terrorism in Nigeria is that the leader of the Boko Haram insurgent group Abubakar Shekau is now a concern of the United States Department of State.

Shekau has continued to lead the cause of terrorism in Nigeria and the United States seems to have been fed up. They have put on a bounty on Shekuau which is $7 million estimated about 2.5 billion naira.

The official statement by The Rewards for Justice Program (RJP), “The United States Department of State offers a #récompense up to $ 7 million for information leading to the arrest of the #terroriste Abubakar #Shekau , boss of #Boko_Haram . #Whatsapp : +1 202 975 9195. #Telegram : @RFJ_Francais_bot.”

This is not the first time a bounty has been placed on Shekau as the Federal government of Nigeria in February 2018, was placed a N3m bounty on his head.

Given the situation of the country, is this the right move?
