Jordan Nwora, Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team shooting guard as become the first national team player to win a NBA title as Milwaukee Bucks best Phoenix Suns 105-98 to win the series 4-2.

Although, Nwora didn’t play in the final, his teammate of Nigerian descent, Giannis Antetokounpo did the damage on the night as he scored 50 points to lead the Bucks to their first title in 50 years.

Giannis, whose parents are Nigerian immigrants to Greece, got drafted to the NBA in 2013 as the 15th overall pick and he has gone ahead to the most improved player of the year (2016-2017), NBA MVP 2x, and NBA Finals MVP.

He, his brother Thanasis who also play for the Bucks as well as their younger brother, Kostas have all emerged as NBA Champions after the latter won it with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

Milwaukee won the series in 6 games after losing the first two games to the Phoenix Suns.

Jordan Nwora got drafted to the Bucks in 2020 as the 45th overall pick out of Louisville and he is now a first-time Champion in his first season.

Nwora is the son of one of the coaches in the national team, Alex Nwora, and the rookie will join his Nigerian teammates in Las Vegas as they head to Tokyo for the Olympics.
