Nigeria’s Kamaru Usman to now fight Jorge Masvidal for UFC Welterweight title

Nigeria’s Kamaru Usman will now face Jorge Masvidal for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) World Welterweight title.

Usman who is the reigning welterweight champion was supposed to fight with Brazilian bulldog Gilbert Burns.

Burns, however, decided to withdraw on Friday night leaving the fight in jeopardy.

Masvidal and Usman were already in negotiations before the UFC gave the fight to Burns.

With Burns pulling out Masvidal stepped up to the challenge as a replacement on short notice.

Both fighters are now in Las Vegas where they are undergoing test for the deadly Coronavirus and if negative will proceed to quarantine.

If they are both cleared they will leave Vegas on a private jet to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates where UFC 251 will be held on Saturday, July 11th.
