Following an inquiry into the murder of Sylvester Oromoni, a student at Dowen College in Lekki, the Lagos State Government ordered the school’s indefinite closure on Friday.
This was said in a statement issued by Ganiu Lawal, the Lagos State Ministry of Education’s Assistant Director of Public Affairs.
The Lagos State Government has ordered the indefinite closure of Dowen College, Lekki, pending the outcome of an investigation into the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a student of the school.
The statement read, “The Lagos State Government has ordered the indefinite closure of Dowen College, Lekki, pending the outcome of an investigation into the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a student of the school.”
The Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, announced the closure after a meeting with the School Management and Staff.
The Commissioner also called for calm and stated that no effort will be spared in determining the cause of the occurrence.
