The League Management Company, the board responsible for organizing the Nigeria Professional Football League has announced that the second phase of the league will resume on the 9th of May.
The resumption date was initially slated for April 28th before the new date was announced by the LMC. The LMC said that COVID-19 protocols which include playing NPFL matches being played behind close doors, will be observed.
NPFL COO, Salihu Abubakar confirmed the latest development via a statement.
“Following the conclusion of the first round of matches on April 5, and subsequent mid-season break, be informed that the second round matches will commence with match-day 20 on May 9 in all centers, except Enyimba versus Rangers, which will be announced in due course”
“This is for your information and compliance as we continue to maintain all COVID-19 protocols.”
