Man United to extend Cavani’s contract
Manchester United are already looking to extend CAVANI’S contract according to manager Ole Gunnar Solkjaer.
The Uruguay striker, 33, joined on a one-year deal in October, with the option of a further year and while he has started only one Premier League game, the former PSG forward has scored three goals in eight games.
He also came off the bench to create Bruno Fernandes’ goal at Leicester on Saturday.
Now, Solkjaer says he expects a new deal to be agreed for Cavani.
“Edinson has a few years left in him so I won’t say anything else” said Solkjaer. “He has made a great impact and I trust him.”
Solkjaer reckons the striker has more than just an impact substitute.
“He’s definitely a starter. You don’t classify a player of that quality as anything else. I trust him and he will probably start more games than he won’t.”
Man United are 4th in the Premier League with 27 points after 14 games and play host to Wolves on Tuesday night.
