Manchester City bounced back from defeat to Southampton at the weekend with a 5-0 thrashing of Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, July 8th.
City went in front as early as the 10th minute when Gabriel Jesus converted a ball through to him by David Silva. Riyad Mahrez made it two from a Kevin De Bruyne assist as Pep Guardiola’s men went to the halftime break two goals up.
An own goal by Federico Fernandez made it 3-0 to City, David Silva made it four in the 65th minute and provided the fifth for Raheem Sterling in the 90th minute.
