Paris Saint-Germain’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino believes that the terrific trio of Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe need time to gel before they will excel in the team.
The former Tottenham manager said this while reacting to PSG’s disappointing Champions League opener away at Club Brugge as they were held to a 1-1 draw.
It requires time for them (Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe) to shine together,” said Pochettino. “It requires work. I had made it clear that we’re not a team yet. We have to work for this.”
While Messi hit the woodwork in the match, Brazilian superstar, Neymar failed to raise his game while Kylian Mbappe limped off the pitch after setting up the opening goal for Ander Herrera.
Pochettino also lamented his team’s mistake in the match but applauded the players for their efforts.
“We needed more consistency and more fluidity. We made too many mistakes,” Pochettino explained. “But, despite all this, I’m satisfied with the players. We have to keep calm and keep working.”
PSG are now two points behind Premier League champions Manchester City who demolished Leipzig 6-3 at the Etihad.
