Mesut Ozil offers to pay wages of Arsenal sacked mascot Gunnersaurus
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has offered to pay the wages of sacked mascot Gunnersaurus.
Arsenal’s mascot Gunnersaurus was laid off due to the effects of the financial impact of the deadly Coronavirus.
He took to his official social media accounts to state his disappointment that mascot Gunnersaurus was let go before he offered to reimburse him his salary.
He said, “I was so sad that Jerry Quy aka our famous & loyal mascot @Gunnersaurus and integral part of our club was being made redundant after 27 years. As such,
“I’m offering to reimburse @Arsenal with the full salary of our big green guy as long as I will be an Arsenal player so Jerry can continue his job that he loves so much. Red heartFolded hands#JusticeForGunnersaurus #M1Ö #YaGunnersYa”
