Minister of Works, Fasola reveals when Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be completed!

Babatunde Raji Fasola, the Minister of Works and Housing has revealed when the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway will be completed.

Fasola in an interview on Bond Fm told Nigerians the road will be completed in the first quarter of next year.

According to him, the reason why the project has lingered up until this time is as a result of the Federal Government inability to shut the Lagos-Ibadan road completely.

He also revealed that 80km of the127km of the road has been completed and now accessible to road users.

As we speak, 80km has been completed. Some of the parts of the road used today have been completed.

We cannot shut the road. The number of vehicles passing the road is not less than 40,000. We can’t shut Lagos-Ibadan road like that. The road should be completed in 2022. The construction will end in 2022.

The Third Mainland Bridge is faster because we had the opportunity of shutting it down totally.

The Lagos-Ibadan expressway serves as one of the major travel and commercial routes that links Lagos to other neighbouring states as well as other regions in the country.
