Despite reports that the Nigeria Football Federation has fired Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, Ademola Olajire, the federation’s Assistant Director of Media, has denied knowledge of the incident.
The coach may only be fired following the NFF’s board meeting, according to Olajire.
He said: “I’m not aware of Rohr’s sack because there are procedures for doing things at the federation”
“Before such decision could be taken, there will be a meeting of the NFF board and a release issued to the public.”
“As for now, I’m not aware of the sack.
“The online platform you claimed reported the story cannot announce his sack without confirmation from the NFF.”
He also stated that a signed declaration certifying Rohr’s sack for authenticity would be issued.
Similarly, Femi Raji, the Super Eagles’ media officer, stated he was unaware of the situation.
“I don’t know about Rohr’s sack,” Raji simply responded when asked to confirm the report.
Gernot Rohr will be paid about N600m if his contract is terminated by the NFF according to reports.
