Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ike Shorunmu believes that the Super Eagles of Nigeria have players to stop Manchester United’s duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes ahead of the friendly match against the Selecao of Portugal.
The former shot stopper said this in a recent chat completesports.com.
“This game will be definitely an exciting game for the Super Eagles considering the fact that they will be playing against a Ronaldo led side.
“I really don’t think the duo of Ronaldo and Fernandes will be a threat to the Super Eagles because we have players who are capable of keeping them quiet.”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Portugal on November 17 at the Estadio Jose Alvalade Stadium – the home ground of Sporting Lisbon.
This will be the first time both nations will be meeting at senior level.
The Selecao aim at using the friendly against the Super Eagles to test their might against a top African side ahead of their FIFA World Cup group stage match against Ghana on the 24th of November at the 974 stadium (The Shipping Containers Stadium)
Nigeria’s next game after the friendly will be a Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea-Bissau on March 20 2023.
