After months of back and forth with Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, with few minutes to the end of the transfer window paid a sum of €50m to La Liga office in Madrid for the signature of Thomas Partey.

The 27-year-old box to box midfielder has been linked to the Gunners all season long and as he was considered as Mikel Arteta’s main summer target.

Thomas Partey according to be reports will wear the jersey number 18 and he will meet his with his new teammates at the club in two weeks time after the international break.

The verstile midfielder grew into the first team from the youth ranks , went on loan to Almeria before he became one of Diego Simeone’s midfielder generals from 2015/2016 season to 2020.

He is considered as one of the best tacklers Europe as he recorded 3.29 interceptions/tackles per 90 minutes last season.

He also has an eye for goals with 16 goals and 12 assists in 188 appearances for the Rojiblancos.

The Ghanaian midfielder becomes Arsenal’s sixth first team signing of the summer.
