Offor Anticipating Sporting Lagos Match With Remo Stars

By Toju Sote

Sporting Lagos coach Paul Offor says he’s looking forward to the NaijaSuper8 game against Remo Stars on Tuesday July 11 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Sporting Lagos held NPFL Champions Enyimba to a 0-0 draw in their match on Sunday, July 9 at the same venue.

In an interview with the club’s website Offor says his team stuck to their playing philosophy in the Enyimba game.

“We wanted more from the game but we know we played against the bed team in the country, and we’re proud of our performance,” Offor said

“We’re happy we were able to stick to our playing philosophy and control parts of the game.

“In the space of two days we’re playing the best teams in the country, both with continental experience. I like it because it is helping us learn where we stand where we need to get better.

“Remo plays a similar style to us, so it’ll be nice to see how that tactical battle plays out. One thing we want to focus on is our finishing. Playing good football is nice, but we know goals win games and we want to score.”

Sporting Lagos and Katsina United are joint second in the NaijaSuper8 group A with one point each after one game.

Remo Stars are first place in the group with four points from two matches and Enyimba are last place with zero points from two games.
