Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede has reflected on his team’s 2-0 defeat to Rivers United in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Thursday, October 12 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Alex Young Oyowah scored the first goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 15th minute of the game.
Andy Okpe made it 2-0 for the Stanley Eguma led side in the 90th minute.
Following the match Ogunmodede took to his X (formerly known as Twitter? handle to ruminate on the defeat.
“Though we hoped for a positive result in our first away game this season, we are determined to use this experience as a valuable lesson,” he wrote.
The match was originally fixed for September 30 which was the resumption date the current NPFL season.
However it was rescheduled due to Rivers United’s CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round second leg game with Etoile Filante which took place on October 1.
The Rivers State based club beat Etoile Filante 2-0 in the encounter.
The Sky Blue Stars are currently placed 16th on the NPFL table with three points after two games.
Rivers United are fifth with three points after the same number of matches but with a superior goal difference of one.
