The Super Eagles striker came off the bench to give the host the lead in the 51st minute five minutes after he stepped onto the pitch.
Onuachu controlled a brilliant pass inside the box from Inao Oulai, did a dummy on his marker before slotting the ball into the bottom right-corner.
Former Nigerian striker, Anthony Nwakaeme alao came off the bench to make impact in the tie providing the assist to Oleksandr Zubkov’s winner in the 84th minute.
The win takes Trabzonspor to third on the Turkish Super League log with 41 points after 19 matches, two points behind league champions, Galatasaray momentarily.
Former Heartland and Enyimba midfielder, Chibuike Nwaiwu made his third straight start for Trabzonspor playing the entire duration of the matches.
Nwaiwu joined Onuachu and Nwakaeme at Trabzonspor in the January transfer window from Wolfsberger for €5.5m.
Meanwhile, Paul Onuachu’s goal is his 12th in the league this season as he continues to impress for the Turkish outfit on his second stint at the club.
