Osimhen makes history as he scores 10th Serie A goal of the season

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has recorded another history after he scored his 10th Serie A goal of the season as Napoli edged 10-man Sampdoria 2-nil away from home.

The Nigerian striker scored the opener in the 19th minute of the match as he latched on to a well-timed cross from Mario Rui from the left flank.

Victor Osinhen’s goal could have been Napoli’s second of the game if Matteo Politano had converted his penalty in the 4th minute.

Samodoria’s chances of getting back into the game diminished  after Thomas Rincon got sent off for a rash tackle on Osimhen in the 39th minute.

Napoli dominated the game but didn’t score the second goal until the 82nd minute. Eljif Elmas converted from the spot after Ronaldo Viera’s hand made contact with the ball in the box.

Osimhen’s goal means he is now the first Nigerian player to score 10+ goals in three different Serie A seasons.

Napoli are on top the Serie A log with 44 points after 17 games.
